MY SIX (6) MONTHS INTERNSHIP AT FD CORPORATION

My six (6) months internship at FD Corporation have been a remarkable experience. It was a fruitful learning experience in Photovoltaic (PV) business as well as Japanese business culture. While my main role was doing Market Research in Africa to expand FD business, I also involved in other tasks such as: attending department meetings, scheduling and attending web meetings with local partners in Africa, writing minute reports, assisting in designing solar system and preparing proposals for projects, organizing and conducting summer internship programs and joining field work to learn construction and installation techniques. The main goal of market research is to assess market requirements and opportunities in the renewable energy (RE) business in Africa, and develop a strategy for FD to enter to “provide electricity where electricity is needed”, (FD company’s VISION).
I have really enjoyed my time at FD. Today, I feel that I have developed a deep understanding of solar energy (PV) business based on FD’s ways of doing business. What impressed me the most in FD’s ways of doing business is their strength in DESIGNING PV systems that are cost effective and affordable for everyone to have electricity.
Culturally, FD staff are very welcoming and the work ethic and environment is very friendly. I felt myself at home during my daily. In a nutshell, FD has helped me grow professional and culturally. I am very grateful for giving me this opportunity.

私にとって、FDでの6か月間のインターンシップは、素晴らしい経験となりました。
太陽光ビジネスだけでなく日本の企業風土も同様に学ぶことができ、とても実りある学びの場でした。
私の主な業務はFDのビジネスをアフリカに広めるための市場調査でしたが、他にも、部署会議、アフリカ現地のパートナーとのウェブミーティング、議事録の作成、太陽光システムのプロジェクト設計や提案準備の支援、サマーインターンシッププログラムの調整と実行、太陽光設備の施工を学ぶための現場実習にも携わりました。市場調査の最終目標はアフリカの再生可能エネルギーの市場と可能性を評価し、FDのビジョンである“電気の必要なところに電気を届ける”ための戦略立案です。
私はFDでの仕事を本当に楽しむことができました。今日、FDの業務に則って太陽光ビジネスを深く理解できたと思います。FDのビジネスで最も感銘を受けたことは、誰もが電気を手に入れられるように、費用対効果が高く安価な太陽光ビジネスの設計を得意としていることです。
社風については、FDの社員はとても歓迎してくれて、仕事に対する姿勢や職場環境はとても友好的なものです。
家にいるような感じで毎日仕事ができました。一言で言えば、FDは私を専門的にも文化的にも成長させてくれました。
このような機会を与えてくださったことにとても感謝しています。
